How this calculator works

Inner position = wheel width × 25.4 ÷ 2 + offset. Outer position = wheel width × 25.4 ÷ 2 − offset. Inner clearance change = original inner position − new inner position.

Worked example

Moving from 7J ET45 to 8J ET35 places the new inner edge 2.7 mm closer to the suspension and the outer edge 22.7 mm farther outward.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include the tire bulge?

No. Results compare nominal wheel bead-seat geometry. Flange thickness, tire section width and sidewall shape are not included.

Are positive offset and positive poke the same?

No. A higher positive offset moves the wheel inward at the same width. More outer protrusion means its outer edge moves farther out.
