How this calculator works

Annual distance = entered distance × periods per year (365 daily, 52 weekly, 12 monthly, 1 yearly). Litres = kilometres ÷ km/L. Cost = litres × price per litre.

Worked example

At 12,000 km/year, 12 km/L and 1.50 per litre, annual fuel cost is 1,500. At 14 km/L it is 1,285.71, a saving of 214.29 in the same currency.

Before you act on the result

Use realistic local prices and your measured consumption where possible. Figures are scenario estimates, not forecasts. Fuel prices, electricity tariffs, driving conditions and ownership expenses can change. The selected currency labels your figures; it does not convert them.

Does changing currency convert prices?

No. The selector labels your inputs and results. Enter prices in the selected currency; no exchange-rate conversion is performed.
